Saturday, August 29th — 4-H Beef Show and Open Beef Show at the Dundas Plowing Match.
Event Details
Date: Saturday, August 29th — Show begins at 12:15 pm.
Animals may enter the barn on Friday but must arrive no later than 10:00 am Saturday morning. Cattle may leave on Saturday at 5 pm or upon completion of the show.
Those who have exhibited in previous years will be given priority if the maximum number of cattle has been reached. A MAXIMUM of 65 head (including 4-H beef animals) will be accepted.
Beef Show and 4-H conformation classes will be held together. Once the placings have been determined, the 4-H entries will be placed from within the class according to those placings.
No bedding will be supplied in 2026.

Show Order
The show will begin with 4-H Showmanship Classes (Junior, Intermediate and Senior) followed by a Champion Showmanship Class.
A class for pee wee children 8 yrs and younger will immediately follow the Champion Showmanship Class. Pee wees must register the morning of the show and they must be accompanied by an adult in the show ring. Prizes for all!
Breed Classifications
Crossbred animals will be entered in a class based on the breed of the sire — e.g. a crossbred from a Simmental sire and an Angus dam will show in the Continental Breeds class.
Nurse cows will not be permitted – beef calves shown must be weaned.
Classes will be split if numbers warrant.
Supreme Male and Supreme Female will be selected at the end of the classes.

The 1st and 2nd place 4-H Breed Champions will compete for the Champion and Reserve Champion 4-H Female Award.
4-H Beef Royal Selection Class
Following the final beef class, 4-H beef members will be competing to be part of the 4-H PEI Royal Beef Team. The team is made up of a maximum of 10 members (ages 14–21) who will travel to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto in November to compete at the National Junior Beef Heifer Show. To be eligible members must have successfully: completed all components of the 4-H year (and previous year); prepare animal without the help of a leader or parent; and participate in regular showmanship and conformation classes. The Champion Beef Showperson will automatically be awarded a spot on the team (provided they are of age).
